  • Community Colleges & Technical Schools

    STEP-UP builds partnerships with community colleges to provide solar installation training as well as train-the-trainer programming for faculty members. STEP-UP team members are also available to visit classes as a guest speaker.

  • Workforce & Community Based Organizations

    Hands-on STEP-UP training is delivered in partnership with local nonprofit and workforce development organizations. Our partners manage recruitment and wrap around services and STEP-UP provides training and employer connections.

  • High Schools & Education Nonprofits

    STEP-UP partners with education organizations and high schools to provide teacher training, curriculum resources, hands-on supplies, and classroom career exploration programming.

  • STEP-UP instructors have extensive experience in the solar industry

  • Our program is mobile- we bring our solar equipment to your site for hands-on training

  • The STEP-UP training is highly customized to meet the needs of each nonprofit partner, and can be provided in English and Spanish

  • Train-the-Trainer programs are available for nonformal and formal educators

WHAT STEP-UP
PROVIDES

STEP-UP instructors provide industry led hands-on training to prepare individuals for solar careers

  • STEP-UP instructors bring hands-on training to our nonprofit and educational partners

  • All STEP-UP trainees receive stipends during the solar installation training. In addition, participants can earn a solar installation training certificate as well as access to additional certifications through our training partners.

  • The STEP-UP team works in collaboration with partners to connect participants to career opportunities in solar energy. Participants also gain access to the STEP-UP jobs portal, Career Equity.

  • High School teachers and other nonformal educators can receive training in the STEP-UP curriculum, solar installation equipment, and additional classroom instruction resources.

WHAT OUR PARTNERS PROVIDE

Our partners include schools, community-based organizations, and workforce organizations.

  • Partners provide a large classroom or other hands-on training space to host the STEP-UP training

  • STEP-UP partners manage all recruitment for training and organize cohorts of 15-20 participants

  • STEP-UP partners provide wrap around support services such as support with childcare, soft skills training, resume writing, and connections to additional training or certifications
